Signing In and Updating Password
Logging into IREI's Nextcloud at ireigogn.hi.is uses the University of Iceland's central authentication system — the same login you're already used to from other university services, including multi-factor authentication (MFA/2FA). There's nothing Nextcloud-specific to learn here.
University of Iceland account holders
If you have a University of Iceland (HÍ) account, sign in with your regular university credentials. If your account uses MFA — standard for HÍ accounts — you'll be prompted for it the same way you are everywhere else on university systems.
For setting up or troubleshooting multi-factor authentication itself, see the University's own help centre article: Sign in with multi-factor authentication. That's the same MFA system used across HÍ, not something specific to Nextcloud, so it's better maintained there than duplicated here.
Non-HÍ account holders
If you don't have a University of Iceland account, you'll receive an email from Gagnaský – IREI when your account is created, containing your login name for ireigogn.hi.is.
If you forget your password, use the Forgot password? link on the ireigogn.hi.is sign-in page — you'll get a reset email with a link to set a new one.
This only applies to non-HÍ accounts. If you have a University of Iceland account, use your university credentials instead of resetting a Nextcloud- specific password — see above.
