Stefnir
Introduction
SStefnir is the latest addition to IREI HPC. The policy of Stefnir is rapid job throughput since each node has a maximum time limit of two days.
The cluster can be connected via three login nodes: slogin1, slogin2, and slogin3. Each login node provides a different purpose for using Stefnir. Information about the use cases for each login node is provided in the following table:
| login node | Connection name | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| slogin1 | slogin1.rhi.hi.is | Used as a common login node |
| slogin2 | slogin2.rhi.hi.is | Used for transferring data |
| slogin3 | slogin3.rhi.hi.is | Used for graphical visualization |
Hardware Specification
In total, the Stefnir partition has 3072 cores and 12,288 (12,096) GB of memory available. 48 x standard compute nodes:
| Count | Name | Cores/Node | Memory/Node (GB) | Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 48 | scompute | 64 | 256 (252) | Intel(R) Xeon(R) Platinum 8358 |
More information can be found in the specs chapter and the partitions chapter.
